About Nayana

Nayana has had the privilege of learning under Smt. Hema Rajagopalan and Smt. Krithika Rajagopalan since 8 years old. She brings 11 years of experience and a developed passion towards her performances. Nayana performed her Arangetram in the summer of 2022 and continues to be a curious learner under the tutelage of her Gurus. Her Bharatanatyam training has helped her cultivate a connection towards her heritage and spirituality. 

 

Nayana has performed in several group and solo performances in the Chicagoland area including the Pritzker Pavillion and in India, at the Chennai Music and Dance festival. She presented a solo full-length  performance at the Music and Dance festival at Chennai, India in January 2023 and returns to present again in December of 2023. She has performed as part of Chicago's Night Out in the Parks and in Natya's productions such as Ramanuja Darshanam. Nayana shares her passion for dance with the community through performances at local temples and community events. She teaches at local schools as part of Natya's Chicago Public School Residency.

Nayana enjoys music with a passion. Alongside Indian classical dance, Nayana has embraced her passion for the arts by participating in choir and acapella performances. She continues to be a learner, student and a performer as a means to delve further into the arts.
